Youth League

Savage Single Shot Youth rifle in 22 Rimfire / Tau 7 Air pistol (Club equipment)

 

  • Introduction

     The League is open to children up to the age of 17 and is the starting point in the sport of competitive shooting. It teaches respect for firearms, firearms safety and shooting techniques. This program is strictly run under the supervision of trained and  Certified  Safety Officers and Instructors which ensure that your children can safely learn about firearms, so they can develop a healthy attitude and skill within the sport.

Air rifle, 22 Rimfire and pistol will be the primary objectives of this league.

There will be safety instruction, training, club matches and interclub matches.

 

Joining the league is simple

  • You are 17 or younger
  • You are interested in target shooting
  • You want to compete ......or not

Required

  • You will be required to take a club level Safety Course specific for the League
  • You will be supervised by trained Range Officers while under the League's shooting schedule

  • Access to rifles and club equipment

   Air (.177) and 22 Rimfire are the objective of this league. The frequency of the league will be once a month from October to May ( please see schedule ). Each discipline and or firearm type the child may select, must be with the prior consent of the parent / guardian.

   Members wishing to compete interclub, provincial or national  will be required to attain membership with a shooting sports association

   Safety is taken very seriously and is the key to ensure effective management of all firearm activities within this club, especially where children are involved. We encourage parents/guardians to participate with the child whenever possible.

 

   The Club Safety course will be available at every scheduled date for the purpose of new student instruction. For those who have undergone this course, please be at the range as per the practice times or match times.

This will be revised as the league gets established (this Course is specific for the League).

Please note that high calibre firearms are not part of the Youth League Safety Course. You may forward any concerns to Grange Sports.

Access time - from 10 AM to 2 PM

>> 10 am to 11 am           Safety Course

>> 10 am to 2 pm      Practice / Match

 

   The Grange Youth League Committee recognizes the importance of adult volunteers and the key role they play to maintain and enhance the program. The long term success is dependent not only with their time but with their mentorship. 

A small amount of your time will be appreciated in order to make this work.
